It should stay on pretty good, but if you ever have your tire taken off- or put back on it will scratch it off.

I painted mine gold. Didn't do any sanding or primer or anything lol. Used 2 cans of the Duplicolor Gold from Autozone

I used the index card method (stick a bunch of index cards along the rim of the wheel so paint doesn't get on the tire). Sprayed clear coat after it dried. Never touched up or anything. Painted it around 1.5 years ago?

Ill recommend using the Actual Wheel paint that you can find at Autozone. Me and a few friends of mine have done some of our cars and they look really nice.

1. he painted his 07 Si wheels Bronze.
2. painted his Evo9 BBS wheels Black
3. 07 Civic Ex Wheels Black.

oh but these guys went for the flat look.

and they have not chipped.

wish i had pic to back me up.

try checking out sandable primer. even though alot of people say dont sand, you can never go wrong to do so. clean them well, spray sandable primer, prep with 800 grit, then if your satisfied, start the paint.

spray paint is fine unless you plan on road racing or something. If you do plan on high heat use like road racing with race brakes, get some high heat clear coat or something...or actual rim paint.

I painted my S2000 wheels laguna seca blue. I figured I'd do something weird since I only use them on the track. I get really weird looks while driving to the track on these, though. Or maybe it's the like 3 rolls of blue tape I use so my car doesn't get scratched. Annnnyyway....They got ruined by my race pads and gingerman raceway on a 90 degree day. So I painted them voodoo blue (toyota FJ cruiser blue). That got ruined by race pads and road america on a 90 degree day....IN OCTOBER

You can get paint mixed at napa and put into a spray can. They can get pretty much any color code from any company. It turns out really nice. I would suggest some high heat clear coat, though. It's pretty soft, delicate paint.

Take them somewhere reputable to remount the tires. Tell them to be careful. I mounted my own (I work at a tire shop). So I was extra careful.

And yes, I was just in the mood to ***** my wheels.

All I did was whipe my wheels down with a wet rag and spray some wheel paint I got at AutoZone.

Held up for the 5 months or so I had the wheels, washed weekly, driven daily. Good luck

edit- Best pic I got left.

ok. You've probably seen them before.

I have KW V3s on the car now. So it doesn't sit as goofy in the back. Haven't driven it in 3-4 months and probably wont get to until march or april

Sanding is a lot of work. I dont sand them or anything. If the original paint/finish is REAL fu#%ed up, I use aircraft remover. If it's not, I just paint over it. No problems.

If you put the wheel in the oven BEFORE you paint it, though, it turns out a little smoother. Put it in the oven at like 250 for about 20 mins.

I find that you have to let the primer dry for only about 10-15 mins. Then the coat of paint. Once you have the paint sprayed, the clearcoat can go on in about 30 mins or so. Let it sit in the sun, and it's real pretty.

Really it depends on how he meant the term "bond"

The word is thrown around a bit.

I'm assuming he meant that is molecularly bonded like that plastic krylon paint.

There is no such paint for metal that I'm aware of. And if there is, it certainly isn't at autozone.
