freshly built b20 doesnt want to start????
well i have just got done with the bottom most of my motor and i decide to put the stock head on it, and the old I/H/E system to break in the motor for a couple thousand miles, until i strap the gt4088 onto it
i put everything back in, it cranks but it doesnt want to start up. now previously before i took the motor out, it was running with a bit of a distributor problem. it ran but when i tried to get into boost it would sputter and the tach would go all funky on me. tried replacing all the main parts = failure. that resulted in me waiting on getting a new one because they are so damn expensive!
so i have eliminated the possibilities of it being the fuel - fuel is shooting out of the return line, the plugs wires and plugs are sparking, the crank is correctly aligned with the cams at TDC, and all of the sensors and vaccum ports are good.
so wtf could it be? i havnt done a compression check on it but on my last motor that i blew, i could get it started with a horrible 60-70psi do to the piston being cracked all the around the top
(ps still pulled HARD with 12psi and 11afr's
)
the plugs seem to be a little dirty, and could possibly be replaced but they still spark. please help me!! i also installed a new aem map sensor, but its wired correctly...so i have no idea
list of goodies on the bottom end.
neptune
benson type sleeves
cp 9.7:1 dish pistons
scat h-beams
stock crank
heres a couple of pics!

start with the basics first
check fuses, relays, loose connections, battery power
you did a correct valve lash on the int. and exh.??
i would replace the plugs if theyre dirty or at least use a small brass wire brush and clean them up
check for shorting wires its a common problem...bust out the multimeter and the 6 pack
