Issue: Fuel is priming, but no spark -new dizzy. This is for d15b engine in an EG.

Is the distributor getting battery voltage?

Check the connection of the ground wire attached to the thermostat housing.

Check for blown fuses.

all fuses good,ground by thermostat good..dizzy is getting 12.6V


Does someone have a pinout for the big dizzy plug?

thanks for the diagrams..

no coil and igniter are from a obd1 dseries that was running..I repinned the big plug and used the internals from the D in my base..

still same result..cranks,can smell fuel in chambers,sometimes has spark sometimes doesnt..

 

I would think that the coil and igniter are your main suspects.

 

yea thats my thought too but i dont really wanna buy a new dizzy its $681...i rebuilt the original one with the guts from a obd1 D-series dizzy i had lying around,repinned the big plug.still no luck..

 

Is there someone who coule help me, same problem. Car was running then slowly died. Replaced dizzy/ with new coil and icm. Crank no spark. Fuel pressure all good thermostat ground good. Swapped the car and still have the same engine even with a new engine wiring. Bserie ek hatch 1999

 

Check fuse 9 and whether battery voltage reaches the coil and ICM. If those are fine, check whether the timing belt stripped or snapped. Then go from there.
