I have the Escort S2, which i love to death. It has saved my *** multiple times, and it has unbelieveable range.

the Escort S2, is the Cordless version of the 8500, so the 8500 and 9500's are very good as well.

Infact I believe the new 8500/9500 series have a false alarm program in it, so like if you drive pass the one section of road, where your radar detector always goes off, but there are never any cops, you can tell your radar detector that, that is a false alarm, it wont alert you from that signal anymore.

I have also had a valentine one, and they are great too... but imo, nothing is better than the escorts.

If you have any "specific" questions about a feature you want in a radar detector, feel free to ask. ive used a LOT of different ones in my car

I have the Valentien One.

it is certainly not the prettiest thing on the planet, but I will say this... mine has more than paid for itself. I love it.

I had Valentine One for 6months. Greatest detector out there. Boogey counter + directional arrows=safe commuting.

Then I stopped speeding so I sold mine.

the directional arrows are nice but i hear they can be quite inaccurate, but thats just what i hear.

i use an escpor 8500 X50 in my s2k and my prelude and i like em alot. i keep mine on the highsay setting, with the volt meter displayed and on skilled or professional mode. its just the mode that will display like...6 signals at once but you need to understand how to read it correctly.

i travel on I5 on the west coast alot and ive had it pick up signals as far as 2 miles out on aflat stretch.

it is nice because you can pair it with a shifter zr3 that is a laser jammer.

also on the note of valentine, i hear that valentine is co owned by the owners of escort, just some food for thought.

no, valentine is owned by one of the original owners of escort, he broke off and made his own company.

they all detect laser but the problem is its really hard to do so before actually getting hit with it. theres no "web" spread out that you vahe to be within like radar. nor is there much residual "splash" to catch to allert you

and corba sucks compared to escort and valentine.

and the SRX is money

ive used cobra. they may detect laser, but you have wayyy less reaction time than escort or V1.

personally i wouldn't purchase another cobra, because after daily use, the speaker started making weird noises when it started up, and it didnt always go off..and wouldnt climb very well most of the time... like it would be no radar..and then BAM 5 X'S

everywhere you go you;re a ***...

but my buddy had a high end cobra (got it at best buy about the same time i got mine) and we drove side by side down a flat stretch of highway that we knew had one of those little things that tell you your speed in big red letters, mine went off about 3/4 of a mile before his.

we did this a bunch of times around town (we lived ina college town) and it had alot of flat areas that you would normally get a signal about a mile out. mine would his wouldnt, over and over again.

they could have getten better but i doubt it.

and those 75 dollar ones...tehy might as well print out tickets for you.

ohhh and i forgot to add, eat a dick homo:

http://www.myradardetector.com/compare_all.htm

you'll see that the model i have, the 9930, did surprisingly well for such a "sucky" unit... in fact it only got beat by the pricier escort unit by .3... so should I shell out another $200+ to get that .3 better... nah ill keep it

no i called you out because u called me out and i proved you wrong...

how hard is it to swap out of a car... unplug from lighter, detach from windshield... apply to new windshield and plug back into lighter... hmmmm doesnt sound like rocket science to me...

no i dont own the escort nor did i call it "sucky" i was merely defending the product i bought for a great deal... but the website that i showed tested both and proved you wrong...

once again thank you for saying im so cool... and your girlfriend didnt mind when my ***** was inthe back of her throat... ask her to sing the ABC's next time while shes blowing you... its AmaZing!!!
