Did you tighten your gas cap properly? Check all lines to Charcol canister.

its' under your battery tray, it's like a black oval shaped plastic can with a brown tube coming out the top and a plug on it, thats the best i can describe it as without taking a pic of mine

Sounds like you may have a bum sensor. The senosr is located middle of the firewall behind the I/M.

Actually, I just checked. Code 90 is a leak at the fuel tank, more than likely the fuel cap. I currently have a defective fuel cap that needs replaced b/c it comes loose after a few miles. I suggest replacing yours too.

BTW, you will need to reset the ECU to clear the code.

Why not try it first?

i kno theres 2 codes that make up the CEL code 90, ones for gas cap, ones for the EVAP system so ima bring it to my dads friend with a actual diagnostic tool. damn i wish that paper clip was more specific

That is not true... here are the codes per the Helms.

90 Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area
91 Evaporative Emission Control System insufficient purge flow

Do whatever you feel is best.

The fuel system pressure is very touchy, and for a fuel cap to be faulty and giving a CEL, it doesn't have to sloppy and obviously loose. It can feel plenty tight, but just not be holding the proper pressure. They just plain wear out of time, and like someone else said, they're like $6. Get a new cap, make sure you turn it a good several clicks tight, and disconnect your battery to reset the ECU and see what happens. By far the easiest option to try first and definately the most common/likely.

Just had this same CEL code. My problem was a hole in the EVAP canister as suggested already. The other suggestions on the error code print out were poor vaccuum seal on gas cap and purge solenoid valve leak. Check both of those out if you havent already.
