question on swapping motors on a 06+ civic
i like the 06+ sedans and coupes, but when i popped up the hood it looks like the engine has to go downwards if you want to swap the motor or tranny, in other words its cramped.
so is going downwards the only option if the engine/tranny/clutch takes a crap down the road?

a lift...or a forklift
! we chained up a rsx from the rebar and was able to lift it up high enough to roll the motor out from underneath. gangster, yes, but it worked! dont tell me youre putting a b20vtec in there either...

You can get a car high enough in a high celling garage to drop the motor from the bottom easy enough. I did it on a 1996 dodge caravan a few times.

You know that you can take that huge piece of plastic and the metal support underneath it off right? The one that sits at the base of the windshield. From there, I'm sure if you take off the intake and exhaust manifolds you can lift the motor out of the top. It really opens up the engine bay when you take that off.
I could be wrong, but it might be enough room.
