umm the y8 trans will give you better acceleration (not like a rocket ship but better than z6) and steel shift forks instead of aluminum like the z6 has. y8 trans is the best d series trans you can get.

jdm d15b lsd trans is the best d series trans you can get... acceleration is awesome, and its got stock limited slip....

d15b/y8/z6 trans all the same, just different shift forks between the s20 and s40 trans

The difference in gearing between the z6 and y8 transmissions is negligible. The z6 has aluminum forks that break, and the y8 has steel forks that bend and take **** with them. Choose your poison.

Yes, the Y8 transmission will work on your D15B.

The gearing ratios between the D15B/D16Z6/D16Y8 are practically the same. Yes, the difference is the Y8 transmissions have steel shift forks. The D15B/D16Z6 transmissions have aluminum shift forks.

theres an s40 jdm d15b trans too for the 96+ motors, so the difference is between the s20 and s40 trans.

Care to explain the difference between the transmissions? Other than one comes in the 92-95 Civic, and the other comes in the 96-00 Civic...

is irrelevant for the OP.

And we're obviously talking about the 92-95 JDM D15B, since the 96-00 JDM D15B did not have LSD optional.

Well, obviously you didn't kno the gear ratios otherwise u wouldn't have asked for differences in the trannys...

Knowing the difference in trannys should qualify you to make a positive evaluation on which is geared better for acceleration and/or top end, an since you were irrelevant to the fact I was just tryna clue you in... for me..

X2

Only small exception being the rare JDM D15b trans with factory LSD. Very rare and very hard to find.

The gearing ratios between the Y8/Z6/JDM D15B being practically identical, the very slight difference wouldn't even matter to the everyday driver. Which is the majority of H-T..

And its been proven fact (Mista Bone) the differential from the JDM D15B LSD transmission craps out past 130whp, obviously not the best D-series transmission unless your engine is low powered or stock. If people need another D-series transmission and want LSD, they are better off getting a Y8 or Z6 transmission (whichever found in better condition and price), and buying an aftermarket LSD (Kaaz, Quaife).

Who said anything about driving over 130mph. Learn to read much. And how is it that you can assure me its holds fine over 130whp? Have a dyno chart? Apparently from your list of mods in your signature, you don't even have the optional D15B LSD tranny...

YOU are the one who brought up bones theory on the tranny crapping out over 130... I've had every single cam tranny slapped onto my d15b an the lsd tranny BY FAR has been the best one yet...

And since you're the knowledge don here, why dont you show me some dyno charts of the MPH crapping out over 130 on a couple diff d15b lsd tranny runs...?? One isnt significant enough, I wanna see about 5-6 so we can develop an average here because i gaurentee the pro's come out on top of the con's every time...

Nobody still said anything about going 130mph. Sucks you can't read. And whatever makes you feel better to edit a signature to lie. I'm done. Good day to you, sir.
