need help light problems for 97 civic sedan
Well the problem is i bought a new car 97 civic sedan <--- not that new but for me it is lol well the problem is each time i press on the brake pedal my secondary lights come(gauge cluster, blinker, and heat displacement lights come on) without even starting the car. And when i turn on the lights the brake lights are all bright like when you press on the brakes. And when i do press on the brakes it barely shows, and i have took apart the steering wheel, the wiper and light switch and the gauge cluster to see if anything was wrong or wires exposed but still nothing. Even the heater displacement lights turn on as well when i just press the brakes, seems like it is grounding out somewhere but cant really tell because nothing looks like they have been messed with. If anyone has any suggestions or has had the same problem... So if anyone can help that would be cool thanks...
This actually happened to me not too long ago, the problem ended up being that when I re-wired my taillights (long story) I had crossed one of the wires so instead of having dual filaments switching from driving to braking lights, they just stayed on when i turned the lights on and everything came on like you said when i pressed the brake. So that being said I would check and double check the connections in your brake lights.
