Awww great, did they really stop making full trannys?? grrr

Get new synchros.
I know I just need synchros, but I was hoping to get a new whole 1 under warrenty.. I was going to untill the dealer found out they were on back order/or whatever... 1 week to fix my tranny they said. I dont like the fact that my car will probally be sitting out in the open for a week to be stripped of parts...

if its done by dealer they may still have a few tranny's floating around...

but afaik, they stopped producing full trannys, though you can still buy the pieces.

I think what Soup Nerd was referring to is Spoon who apparently no longer sells their B tranny.

Hondas are just on backorder, and I highly doubt they'd stop making major components for the car when there's plenty of them out there that still have over 5 years warranty left.

[e]Fwiw, a dealer told my buddy the other day that they "could order him one but it would take awhile."

I went to my dealer 3 weeks ago asking for a tranny. They said it was backorder until september. I called randmotorsports for a spoon tranny and dave ordered one for me. This was two and 1/2 weeks ago and he said he MAY have some in a week

There you go, you could always throw a Spoon tranny on there if you're worried. Maybe if you ask your dealer real nice-like they'll toss one in for ya.

If the thread that was posted a couple weeks ago was true, there won't be many more of them around. (spoon trannies)

I thought there was some rule that a manufacturer had to produce replacement parts for five years or something?

HA. TRY HAVING IT SIT THERE FOR 4 MONTHS.
YES THEY ARE ON BACKORDER AND MAY GET SOME SEPTEMBER.
THEY JUST ENDED UP REBUILDING MINE. NOT WHAT I WANTED, BUT HEY WHAT CAN YA DO?
So you finally got your car back? How's the tranny after the rebuild?

I think backorders on ITR blocks, trannies, and other parts are going to become a lot more common.

I would imagine Honda is shifting its focus away from the older stuff and focusing its production resources on the current models/engines.

Just wondering what you had rebuilt? I had the same problem with my 99 Si(R) and they replaced a **** load of bearings and synchros.. i think it had something to do with the input shaft bearing going first.. and this was with only 65000km on the car..
