If there's a will, there's a way... just wondering if there's any phesable method of converting the TB back to cable.

I hate the rev hang, with a passion. My ECU does not fall into the VIN group for a reflash, so supposedly I don't need a reflash to eliminate the rev hang. I still get it though, as does everyone else that I know who has a new Civic.

It's an '08 with ~1500 on it, does data logging really take xxxx miles to figure out that rev hang is totally unneccesary (and most definitely annoying), or will there always be a slight hang?

Everything else about this car is sickeningly awesome and I love it. I just can't get over that rev hang... it just sounds so... out of place, like it shouldn't be happening.

Maybe I'm just having the jitters from having a brand new car for the first time... who knows.

To answer your question, I believe at least one person has, but it was car that was being modified for the track.

To be honest, it is not worth it unless you plan on running a K-pro. It is lot more then installing a throttle body and cable. The DBW is tied to your ECU (of course), as is your speedo, tach, MAP and MAF sensors. You need to replace the ECU. If you want a speedo and tach, you will need to replace those as well, and I don't think anyone has found a speedo or tach that will fit, which mean changing your gauge cluster as well. You also will have problems with the MAP and MAF sensors. Last, if your state has any smog requirements, you will not pass.

Lot of trouble for a simple rev hang.

Just something to think about.

Not the Hondata reflash, the factory reflash.

Yeah it sounds like its not even worth it.

No bulli it doesn't. So don't worry.

I really don't think the rev hang is an issue, you just need to learn how to drive the car differently, and at 4k+ the rev hang completely disappears for the most part. You just need more practice.

i can personally vouch that it does get rid of the rev hang. i have an 06 si and i never really noticed the rev hang until after the hondata reflash. now the rpms drop fast and like they are supposed.

now as for the conversion from dbw to throttle, this topic has been discussed MANY times. the reality is that it takes too much work AND $ for the actual conversion and would not be good for DD since the speedo is digital and based off the dbw system.

the cheaper conversion is to trade it in for an 05-06 rsx-s if it really bugs you that much.

But yeah, looks like I'm getting the reflash after I put a few parts into the car. I/H/E/RF.

think of the rev hang this way... thieves wont want to steal your car because you cant swap that engine easily.

whats to stop them from stealing the motor and using a different throttle on other throttle controlled cars, ie rsx-s? or using the parts from the motor ie cams, block, etc.?

true... basically i was thinking about amateur thieves that would try to sell the engine as a complete engine/tranny/ecu or use it as a complete swap.... my ignorance is getting the best of me lately.
