Class D amplifier opinions above 1000W below $300 or slightly above
I creating a new post because I only got one response in my last post and it was specific to two different models. I am now looking into other models. Times have changed and I fell out of knowing which brands were good a long time ago. And brands that used to be good now suck. So I am looking to get a response out of people who are actually around this equipment.

i personally like the lanzars because they are cheap reliable good quality amps. i have owned a couple of phoenix gold amps and havent ever had any luck with them ma audio is good but kinda expensive and autotek i havent even heard of nor have i heard too much about soundstream. i have used a wide variety of amps but still the one i side with most out of those 5 is the lanzar
you might want to look at a brand called pyle, they're cheap but perform real well

The autotek amp is a real good amp, US amps are probley the best money can buy, crossfire, diamond, Hifonics. There are alot of good amps, the only thing is unless you buy the amp online your going to pay alot more for a true 1000 watt amp. and another thing to take in consideration is 95% of the time when you buy something online it doesnt have a warranty or its refurbished.
kenwood kac-9103d is a decent amp, it sales for $299 at best buy. it is rated at 500rms @ 4 ohms, 900rms @ 2 ohms, and is 1 ohm stable but doesnt give a rating.
we sell and install alot of these amps at work and have extremely good results out of these for the price. i think almost all of the others car audio salesmen and other installers i work with all run these sub amps in there personal vehicles as well. just a thought.

yo. alpine is goin to have a 2000w amp out soon its the v power amp. this is the biggest mono block alpine amp ever made. retails for @ 600 bucks. but there is alot of other brands also out there ... arc audio ,zapco , kicker ( they are still under rated amps) and list could go one for days... lol dont buy nuttin you can find at best buy. even tho they say kenwood pioneer , they are a custom line up made just got best buy

For the price range you can't go wrong with the soundstream or the ma audio amps. I use them and for a budget amp you will love them.

I'm kinda still in the research stages. I would like to get a class D just for the efficiency (less stress on the electrical system) but these take a nose dive once the impedance is dropped. And sound quality for the most isn't so great no reason for that other then poor designs. I have no clue how JL gets $1/watt for there class D amps.
I have been looking at a few Arc Audio amps as of lately. Would like to find one of there H-class amps used or a really good deal on a new one. Also found a Alphasonic Class D in this price range. They used to be really good amps but like everyone else I have no idea now.

I not really into alphasonic. I seen to much trouble with them over heating and poping. So I never really looked at them again. Its not jl that has a rating of $1/watt. Its a avarage of most compaines that it ends up like this.
I use the mtx te1501d and the mtx te 4001d and love them. they never heat up and provide there rms output down to 13.5 volts. I about to strapp two of the te4001d soon to try out one of the 22' jack hammer sub. But it would be used to push 3 15 9500's after I give back the 22' sub to my rep.

This has been the norm since I could ever remember. For a class A/B or class A it makes sense to pay $1/watt. For class D I would make the argument that its only worth $.30-.50/watt. Most class D amp manufactures follow this.

Thats not what the unit that I opened up look like. It was a 1k watt mono amp that we had a cc. But I am also baseing this off a amp made 4 years ago. I am just going off what i know. Companies can change. And with all these products on the market its hard to keep all there info down. I not saying that there products are garbage now. But then We had to many issues. I try to stick to what i carry and to what i use in a every 30 day period. Which is allways mtx, pioneer, soundstream,ma, alpine. All the other high-ends units like arc and zappco and a few others. Its like a blue moon because most people won't shell out cash becuase there not common around here. I will vouch for hifonics because they will to also put down power on a budget till it heats up.

I think what has happened to PG is truely sad. That company has switched gears completely.

Well they were budget compared to real high end stuff. I guess I only think of them as budget because I was able to find them for big discounts at several places. The MSRP was high compared to anything that could've been called budget, so I see where you are coming from.

Not true with dei. They took over a company that owner did not want anymore. They still have all there old tech working for them. They even helped out with mb quart. I not going to stop buying or selling them because it has a sister company named maxxsonics.

PROVE IT! and i dont mean hearsay. I am good friends with the owners of every custom shop in my area, hell ive worked for most of them. they carry the same lines we do at best buy and its the same exact product.
The only time I ever saw Best Buy have anything that resembled its own product line, when I worked there, is when Rockford Fosgate Painted some bd1000's black instead of grey, because BB only carried the Punch line and not the Power line.
