Flip the sub over and there should be a model number on the magnet. You may have to remove the sub from the box to do this.

that would be it. an 8 ohm sub isnt that great for a car audio hate to shoot you down. it is however excellent for a home audio setup. if you put it in a bandpass box it might sound decent

if you trunk is sealed and not a hatch and your putting them in a sealed box the bass reproduction is no going to be that low meaning you bass notes will not go down lower than probably 50-60 hz when optimal in a sealed box is somewhere closer to 35-40 hz just something to think about. may want to think about upgrading to a 4 ohm or less if you want i can tell you a great place to buy a new decent quality name brand sub for under 50 dollars. pm me if you want to know

actually, i was gonna use em to listen to heavy metal at the highest power and volume possible.

would 8ohm be good for that? i don't want something so deep that you can't hear the high pitch guitar riffs clearly.

lol i bet you don't see subs used for that too often.

actually i do the same thing but yes they would probably be perfect for that i only have to 8 inch mtx's hooked up in a durango simply due to the fact that a little bit of bass makes a world of a difference so yes they would be perfect for metal

sweet. its cool to see more metal heads using subs to wreck others' ear drums.

now the box i am making is actually very unique compared to others. allthough im not too good at woodwork i really hope the design does something.

the sub is enclosed in a box with a rectangular cut out on the backside and theres like another open ended box built over the front and if my idea works as planned it will sound somewhat deeper at mid volume and expletive up your ears at full volume. i'll shoot some pics of it when its done. its really hard to explain.

one thing i have to recommend is that make sure the box is completely sealed even if ur using screws its always good to use wood glue on the ends when attaching two pieces together, but it sounds like a cool design for a box be sure to post some pics im kinda curious.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with using an 8 ohm sub, [or 8 ohm load] in a cars audio system, in fact as long as it is powered properly it will outperform the same 4 ohm sub in SQ, and the amp will run a lot cooler.

Your Comp C10 is a 125W continuous sub, all you need is an amp that makes 1x125W-150W RMS into 8 ohms, [or 1x250W-300W RMS into 4 ohms].

Here is some info on it... http://www.kicker.com/06/tech-...n.pdf 94

PS, there are concerns when installing subs into the trunk of a car, but the concerns are the same whether in a sealed, vented or band-pass box.

Number one concern is getting the "bass' into the pass. compartment, this can be problematic with cars that have a trunk that is well sealed from the pass. compartment.
Number two concern is if the car has rear speakers with the backs in the trunk, the "bass" will try and go through the speakers to get into the pass. compartment, turning the rear speakers into "passive radiators" for the subs, this can be a severe problem if the trunk is also well sealed from the pass. compartment.

Yes it would change things, not in regards to the speakers, [sub] impedance or how the sub would sound, but with no "high-pass' speakers all you have is sub bass and that would sound like crapolla. 94

PS in your first post you said you got some Kickers as in plural, [more then one] but the rest of the posts it sounds like one sub, which is it?

You have two 125W 8 ohm subs, wired in parallel you will have a total of 250W of continuous power handling and a 4 ohm load, so you need an amp that makes 250-300 watts RMS into 4 ohms.

Optimum box recommendations are in the manual I linked, just double them for 2 subs, the Comp subs like to be in their own air space so use a divider. 94

PS, I would stick with a sealed box.
