DRIVING MY SOHC AROUND TOWN.. havent driven it around town for like 2 months.. i just started hearing the valves knocking. sounds like its on 1 or 2 ..how can i fix this problem.. how much is it going to run me?

 

Are you sure it's your valves?

 

Im pretty positive..I checked it out and not sounding like piston is hitting anything.

 

Perhaps you need a valve adjustment.

 

knocking or ticking.. if they are ticking just adjust them..

 

You probably just need to set your Valve Lash. Do you have a feel guage and a 19mm?

 

yea its more like a ticking..

 

dont got a feel gauge..is it easy 2 adjust the valves...any specs i can find on 2 how much to adjust?

yea i turned it on dis mornin...listened.. its ticking noise..know tha ? is how 2 fix

 

Valve adjustment, search for it
angled feeler gauges are like 10 bux at sears

i agree, they tap. rods knock

 

Check your oil level, and then adjust your valves.
