Default eg auto to manual swap mounts

I have read a lot of threads about this swap, and I know that the preferred method is to use a conversion mount. However, it also sounds like I can just weld up the mounts to make it work. Does anyone have details on what needs to be welded and how to set it up? Oh yeah, this will be for a b16 manual into a 93 civic dx auto.

I know this will be obvious when I actually put the engine in the car, but if I decide to order the conversion mount, I don;t want to have to wait around for it.

Thanks in advance for the help.

yes. you can weld the manual bracket on the car. It is like 30 or so dollars from honda. that is what I did Drop the engine in and bolt up back and drivers side. align the engine pretty good then tack the passenger side bracket into place. pull the engine out and weld it up on top and on the bottom

oh, you actually have to cut off the auto bracket and weld the manual on in! I thought that you could weld the 2 post auto mount (with the rubber) onto the 3 post base for the manual (I think that is right) I think for my time, I will buy a conversion mount, looks like I can get one for $50 on e-bay!

No need to do all that... Just get a auto to manual mount. No welding or cutting.
