Good question,

Anyone?

Compressing the spring and loading it that much more ALL the time can't be good or make it last just as long as the OEM setup.

Or can it?

the shocks will wear out quicker...but then again i consider the stock shocks wear items to begin with.

not by much. if you compare numbers its a 50% increase in stiffness. when and if they slowly wear out, replace them. for the most of the spoom users I doubt they would see a need to change them before 100k

RealTypeR has had em on his car for 10k i think, well more now I'm sure. But last time I was in his car it was getting a bit bouncy, but nowhere near bad yet.

IMO, Get bilsteins.

i would recommend aftermarket. no point in paying top dollar for type R parts. i like the shocks, but as I have not done a straight comparison between type r shocks and other shocks i wouldnt be able to tell.

I would suggest AGX or yellows. Another plus about not using type R shocks: you can get away with not using the rear LCAs (which would be extra)

Let's try to stay On Topic dealing with the life of "Stock Shocks."

There are a host of aftermarket shocks that you could use, Koni Adjustable Yellows are one of the best, Bilstein HD's are another.
Search for other shock options.

lol Anton, since you went Off-Topic: I'd take Bilstein HD's (or Sports if you get ITR LCAs) any day of the week over Koni yellows (stock valving)
