Default S2000 Gearbox of an 2004 S2000 Euro Version

Most of you are aware that the Euro version S2000 still comes with F20C even AP2. I found a car overseas I want to buy that is 2004 with F20C. I need to know if the gearbox is replaced to Fiber pieces even in the Euro version?
In other words, is the Fiber gearbox related to the car beeing AP1/AP2, or F20C/F22C?
Also, I currently have the 2007 S2000 in SoCal, the gearbox is amazing very short in terms of gears, 1st 37mph, second 57mph unlike the old AP1 S2000 in US the 2nd is around 65. Anyway, are the Euro Version AP2 F20C 2004 S2000 has the F20C with the short gearbox that I have in my 2007 one here or no, in other words is the gearbox ratios related to the AP2/AP1 model or F20C/F22C Engine?

Thank you,

I would think the f20 even though its in the Euro AP2 woud still have the AP1 tranny. I dont think Honda would have used the AP2 tranny with the F20C.

most likely the F20C trans. The AP2 trans has shorter gearing 1st-4th....among other things.

But, I was checking the French website of Honda (In France) the specifications are 2.0 240 PS.. and they describe the gearbox being Fiber.
I'm a little bit confused

S2KILLA.. For your information, I'm planning to sell my S2000 that I have here, and moving out of US. I'm not planning to ship it here. Imagine!!!!! Paying for an S2000 only for the trans being Fiber or not!?!?! I'm just checking out the models available there.

Also, if you are not in the mood to answer, why do you care if someone asks silly or good questions?!?!?! Don't open threads that doesn't interest you.... Are you getting paid for answering????

All the F20c trannies have the same gearing. 2004+ F20c trannies have the carbon synchros that the F22c trannies have, but not the F22c gearing.

Also what is the advantage of having fiber synchros? Reliability? or better shifting feel and that's it?

You can go to the various country websites where the F20c is still the standard engine (Germany for example http://www.honda.de/content/au...mv=57), and look at the gear ratio specs (in German gear = gang). Then compare to the ap1 gear ratios (you can find them at http://www.turnzero.com/techni...lator).

Also, here is the F20c in South Africa: http://www.honda.co.za/s2000/default.htm
See the pdf with specs http://www.honda.co.za/s2000/s2000_spec.pdf

There have also been some threads on s2ki.com on this subject with some brochures in Japanese that give details.

The carbon synchros are supposed to make shifting smoother. I've tracked both ap1 and ap2 and really never noticed much of a difference when shifting gears.

and yes people are that dumb to ask if other country's have different options to buy them and ship them over...

ohh and i was in the mood to answer... its just a shame that you have to waste peoples time reading your nonsense babble instead of searching and finding out info on your own...

S2KILLA: Since you are not a mind reader, check first before you reach a false conclusions and judgments. Also, I am not willing to spend all my time online searching and searching, that's why forum is there, save time and check if anybody knows this info, I post a question, I do my work, and daily stuff then I come back and check, if you feel you are being abused, whenever you see "mok" posting, do not open it. Is this fine?
Also, I don't plan to just get help from people, I do the same, I pass through topics quickly, if one of them interested me, I click it and read or reply to others, but not too often. Anyway, that's more than enough for me to tell you, other than that, I know that you will keep offending and making it seem that you are right and I am wrong, well go ahead, enjoy it....

So far I got what I want from negcamber, Black S2K and B Serious whom I thank very much.
