Default Millions of Dollars of Cars at Gingerman Today!

Check out some of the pics (97, actually) at my photo site. It was a hot day but fun nonetheless. 3 Rs (all black) were in full effect, in addition to a bunch of Ferrari's, a few 911s, a Maserati Spyder, a few of NSXs, Z06, etc.

Haha..okay, this sucks. I've tried at least 5 different ways to post the URL but it is getting butchered here every time.

Okay, sorry for the inconvenience, but if you want to see the link, copy and paste the following into your browser window BUT substitute the "$" (right after "r=") with an "o" as in the first letter in orange.

CGI Motorsports. Flamers please find another thread.

Especially check out the Ferrari 333SP and the F40. Also, check out the pictures of the homemade (nicely done BTW) ITR oil cooler.

I should have gone. I was sitting on my butt doing nothing at work yesterday.

Yell00ITR, how was the M coupe?

M Coupe was LOTS of fun but I was sliding all over the course like it was covered in ice. I was MAJORLY spoiled with Kumho v700s on the R. There were certain turns that I was able to take MUCH faster than in the R (I was able to go through 5/6 at 75mph vs. 60-65mph in the R with race tires) but there were other turns that I wasnt able to take as fast. At the end straight (before 11) I didnt have much problem getting up to 115mph or so, but braking a little earlier was a pain. It was REAL hot and my lines were VERY sloppy.

I drove a friend's stock R with Kumho's on it and man...do I miss it! What a fun car.

No, dont get me wrong. I am happy about my new car in EVERY way. But, I miss certain aspects of all my old cars. The ITR is very tossable on the track, but I realize how **** poor the steering is. BUT, the fact that you can maintain so much speed through the turns is nice.

I need to get some better rubber on the M Coupe and all shall be well.

My exit at turn 10 ROYALLY SUCKED. I was sliding too much and had to reduce throttle input. IF I could exit that turn appropriately, I dont see why 120 isnt possible. BUT, it gets damn scary braking so hard (with stock pads, mind you) into turn 11.

Geez I hit 105 with a good exit at 10 with race tires and pads, either one of our speedo's is off, or your bmw has a lot more get up and go then myHonda, because I brake very late. Do you know your track times? (Im curious because I almost bought an M coupe)

BMW speedos have been known to be optimistic, so that can be part of it. Also, the M Coupe with the S54 engine (315hp, 251lb-ft) is considerably faster than an s2000, although all bets are off once modified. Fastest time was only a 1:43 with the walmart special stopwatch, but nobody was running very fast (especially not the Ferraris! ) and I was sliding all over the place. That time was during the last session in the car, and actually when my friend with an R was driving. Car was bone stock. I was really thinking high 1:30s wouldnt be a problem but maybe next time (and probably definitely with stickier tires). Im still trying to figure out this whole RWD thing .

Oh I didnt realize you had a 02 M coupe, those things haul ***. I was thinking you had the 240 hp one, sorry. Yea I bet you can get into the high 130's with some practice. With stock tires and pads my best was 1:39-1:40 time. So you can certainly get there.. Let me know next time you come out, I'll try and join you!

I might go back in mig-August. And, I really need to work on improving my lines/smoothness! Just when I felt I was getting smooth in the ITR I switch platforms. A guy I know with a 2000 M Coupe (s52 engine, 240hp) with just race tires (otherwise stock) hit a LOW 1:38 last thursday.

Was there another black R there I didn't see? I've got lot to learn on the track, I had a blast though. Here's some more pix to add to Yell00ITR's fine collection.

Here's some (actually many) pix from Yell00ITR's photo album that caught my eye. Sorry dial-up guys, there's a bunch here. I'm definitely spoiled with my cable modem.

Actually, I wouldnt be surprised if the Neon guy passed the ferraris several times. He was running fast (maybe a little too fast for him as he ended up off the course a few times) coupled to the fact that the Ferrari guys all drove EXTRA cautious (or were all relatively new).

Now I really regret; otherwise I could probably now brag about passing Ferraris on the track.
