Why not just get the right stuff? The weighting of those cars is different.

I rock H&R Sports & KYB AGX's. Rides great. Fairly inexpensive.

Oh wow. So you are putting springs on your stock shocks? Such a bad plan. It's gonna ride like crap. Ebay coils are an equally bad plan.

Do it right, do it once.

Ive used stock struts on a 2" drop, however I lengthened my top hats, its a cheap route. I rode like that for a long time with no probs, as did a friend of mine.

ive had lots if different set ups on diferent cars and a few times had ebay springs on stock blown shocks and it really doesnt ride that bad but some of the ebay springs ride like crap. if you dont care about the ride quality why do you care if your shocks are blown?

haha theres no way those top hats were in the front of a civic. they are WAY too tall. maybe in the back yeah...

anyways if you dont mind re-installing your lowering springs, you might as well just ride on your stock struts till you can afford some nice struts. who cares? its pretty safe to say that over the last 20-17 years they have blown out.

or if u can afford em now, buy the good **** right off the bat and save some time.

The EF uses a short stroke shock (and obviously a spring designed to utilize that type of shock), that's the only reason I can think of that may cause you to encounter a problem if you use EG springs.

My first EF sedan (DX) was on Neuspeed Race and stock struts, rode OK (probably due to low mileage, 99k)

My second EF sedan (EX) was on Neuspeed Sport and stock struts, rode like **** (struts were probably older than dirt, car had 250k miles on it )

My wife's CR-X was on Sprint springs (standard, not the Extreme RX lowering) and stocks, was probably the best out of all of them.

Lesson? Stock struts suck, will get the job done, but are not ideal for lowered cars.
