A sad day for a buddy.
A buddy of mine had bought a Rebel 250 from me a while back. He used it to learn how to ride. Luckily though he had a good head on his shoulders to start small.
His friend Chue Vang, however, wasn't as fortunate. His first bike was a 2007 Cbr600RR. I'm not too clear on the accident details but, Chue Vang was riding at a faster rate or speed than he should of. A buddy of his was in the left lane next to him. He was in the right lane. A sharp left turn came up ahead. He cut left in front of his buddy, little did he know, the road sharply turned right. He lost control and went off the road. His bike flipped a few times and he suffered a broken neck. From what i've heard, he's on life support and that's the only thing keeping him alive. He can't breathe on his own, or speak. He can barely open his eyes. He has a wife and two kids.
He'll be in my prayers tonight.

Very unfortunate. Prayers are out to he and his family.
This is a major reason why I ride my CBR at the track only. Sportbikes pump you up, make you feel brave at times and thats how accidents happen.
Ride safe, everyone.

The day I find out i'm having a kid is the day i switch to riding a scooter on the street.
If you're gonna ride like a jackass do it on the track where you can see whats coming.

yes i had just got the rebel. i outgrew it quick too. now i have a ninja 500r.
im not sure what kind of gear he was wearing, but he suffered a broken neck. im not sure that any of the normal gear we wear daily could have prevented this. yes speed was a huge factor. it was just too unfortunate. i'll update as soon as anything changes. currently he's still paralyzed from the neck down and machines are keeping him alive.
it just doesnt look good.

Where were they riding at the time of the accident? I know most of the roads around the Fresno area...
I hope the guy can pull-through and learn a lesson about riding. The 600rr is more bike than most people need, and it has to be used responsibly.

the only street name i heard was Valentine.
and it saddens me to say, that they made the decision to pull the plug sometime yesterday.
Rest in peace Chue vang.

Sorry for his family, but it's people like this that give us a bad name and think it's ok to ride above there skill level and to do it on the streets. God knows i have done it and after i was lucky enough to live through my first crash at 70 into a deer i have learned to respect what i can't control. thoughts go out to his family.
Rest in peace. My condolences to his family and friends
Poor children, when sometimes I feel that I'm going above my limits, I don't think of myself, I think of all the pain my loved ones will go through and just back off.

RIP, sorry to hear.....Damn this is one of my first times reading the the motorcycle thread and this suxI was looking into getting a byke today as a matter a fact ... i had a friend take me to see a few bykes, but i have a wife and a 2 month old daughter... so this is really making me think.... i understand that his speed was a huge factor bt there are also times when safe riders get smashed into by idiots on the street!!!!
