Default todd, perhaps we can help sort each others car???

even though there are some inherent differences between your car and mine, i thought we might be a resource for each other during the car sorting process. i'm really interested to see what you've done and why. right now my setup is as such:
93 civic ex coupe, no a/c
sick spring rates
koni yellows
22mm st swaybar/tie-bar combo
205/50/15 azenis

i don't want to give away my setup to EVERYONE. e-mail me if you're interested in trading ideas at whip113@hotmail.com

hey, I'd be really glad to help, I certainly have nothing to hide with my ghetto setup, although I think you'd be better served by talking to Yack instead. ya know, he "owned" me last weekend, bigtime....

my chassis setup is really nothing special:
-500F/400R Skunk2 springs
-Tokico Illumina shocks (always set on 5; barely enough to control the springs)
-no front antiroll bar
-stock GSR rear antiroll bar
-Accord wagon front brake conversion w/PepBoys Raybestos Ceramic Enhanced Nascar Select brakepads
-stock rear drums w/Napa shoes
-Synpower brakefluid
-15"x6.5" Rota Attack w/205-50-15 V700 Victoracer
(all the rest of the suspension is stock Civic; still have stock bushings, etc.)

powertrain wise:
-B18A LS motor, rebuilt, massaged cylinder head, custom cams, valvetrain
-custom home grown cold air intake system
-Eriks racing chipped LS ecu
-DC 4 into 1 header (US model)
-custom exhaust piping to Dynomax muff (quiet!)
-stock B16A2 hydro tranny. no limited slip

thats it. like I said, nothing really special. I am very glad to help anyone who wishes to ask, so feel free to reply!

later and good luck,
Todd

Chad,

huge inside (right front wheel) in turn 6/6a/7 carousel. had my crew buddies time me through there and Yack was consistently .75 to .80 sec segment time faster than i was.... cold hardly give any throttle or the right front wheel would smoke up... had to really practice a light touch on the throttle all through that section.

limited slip would have helped there......

later,
Todd

Yep, I stayed all through the race on Sun. it was a fun one to watch, expecially the H2 race! Jack was just cruising out front mostly. the ham was waving and honking to the babes going down the chute!!!!

he's a cool customer, I'd say.....

Todd

PS I don't think Yack has a lot of reason to get worried about us right now, I'm afraid. Now, you and I, on the other hand, might be soon mixing it up, my friend Chad....

Ah!!!!! I'm very glad to read this, because I felt the same way. My car also was pushing more than usual since I put the LSD in. I've heard that can be a problem, but I didn't know if it was true, and I didn't know if I was imagining the push. I did crank my rear shocks up to full stiff, but it still wanted to push in the carousel and through turns 1 and 2. I'm going to try to counter it with the rear sway bar, but I might have to increase my rear spring rate as well.

Me too, I noticed taht with mine!! help a lot keeping the car tight in high speed corners, but hurt in the slow ones.. I did notice I went faster when I delayed the throttle...

Corey, did you do the Quaffe (I know I spelled it wrong) LSD in your car? I remember somebody on this last talking about how they are known to break axles...

er......how foolish of me. i was actually referring to "todd00", ie: yellow itr, buddy club exhaust, first in stx at rome tour. however, i can talk about car setups for days on end, so any "todd" or anyone else for that matter can ask me about anything on a front wheel drive honda or acura.

i've never actually heard about fwd cars having push problems coming out of a turn with the quaife. perhaps your problem is caused by having no front sway bar. i tried this setup on a set of sportlines and then my gc's with 400fr/300rr springs with the same rear sway bar. the car rotated in the faster turns, but the tight stuff and slaloms she pushed bad. i put the front bar back on low speed and transitions were greatly improved. haven't had many high speed sweepers to find out if she pushes bad in that situation with the bar connected though. ironically, i had more problems with inside tire wheel spin WITHOUT the front bar then with. go figure.
