Default Brake Caliper options

Car is 99 GSR with around 85K mile....occassional HPDE's and regular Auto-x.

One side of the pads are wearing much much faster than the other side...May be my front calipers are gone??

Which is the best place to get a good set of calipers? what are other options if any?

Since my pads and rotors are gone, planning to go with Aotozone rotors Hawk Plus pad ( I think, I can live with the Hawk plus )
Thanks

im using autozone rear calipers and wrecker yard front calipers w/o issue.
your problem may not be bad claipers but sticking slide pins. some cleaning and some grease may solve that.

If you're running ducting to one side, the hotter side will wear faster.
I just flip my pads after every track day.

I checked the pads again....its the inside pads that are waering off faster than the outer ones.
On the Driver side, the inside pad is completely gone and it has made big scrtaches on the rotor...

If you want a very nice value oriented upgrade, contact Fast Brakes. I installed their Type R/Spoon calipers along with 11" rotors and Hawk pads on a 99 Si. These work great and the kit cost just under $400. The only down side to this kit is the calipers are bare metal and will rust immediately! So, get your caliper paint ready before the install. If you are using stock 15" wheels, you may have to grind a hair off the outside of the caliper - this was necessary to fit the stock 99 Si wheels. These have a very nice sold feel!!! Way better than the stock 99 Si front brakes.

This is a four bolt kit.

Classic case of the slider pins not moving properly.

This has happened to me on the rears. What sucks for me is I notice that something isn't right, but because it is on the inside can be kinda hard to tell that it isn't wearing evenly.

Disassemble, clean and reassmble with good high-temp brake grease, replace any broken rubber boots (probably WHY there is little to no lubrication now).

your caliper slides need greased or replaced as said above that is why your inside pads are wearing faster!!!

I was planning to put the rotor and pad over the week end....I guess I have more things to do than the just rotors and pads Search shows that taking the pin could be a PITA kind of job some times

For some reason, if I cannot do the caliper now, I will change the rotor and pad now and will do the caliper work later

Nah, its cake. Takes like 10 minutes per caliper. + bleed, remounting, etc. which you're going to have to do anyway.

You could do it without removing it from the bracket, but you're going to have to replace the rotor anyway, so might as well.

As a Temp arrangement, I am planning use my old not so worn Axis ultimates and not change the rootos now....this is what I think, I should be doing...thanks guys

1- I will just take of the two upper and lower 12 mm bolts
2- Pull out the pins, lube them, put it back
3- swap the pads. put the Ultimates
4- Put this back together
