Cel 41 and 17, new o2 and vss (searched for 2 hours)
I have an boosted ls in my ej tuned on chrome, my o2 heater wire rubbed through and grounded out, i replaced it and it drove fine for about 500 miles, then my spedo started junping around, quit working, threw codes 17(vss) and 41(o2 heater wire again) there is nothing wrong with the o2 wires, i loomed them and i also put a new engine wireing harness in when i did the o2, so i doubt it would be wireing, i put in a new (used) vss, worked fine for another 50 miles now doning the same thing, it's killin me, sometimes when i rev it up the spedo goes up with the tach, it's drivin me nuts, i don't understand how they could be related, but it won't throw just the o2 code, if i'm not moving it will run all day with no cel, any help would be great, thanks in advance
Bump for still having the same problem, i removed the o2, checked the wires, cleaned the conection, cleaned the vss conections and it was fine, drove it to work(50 miles) and when i got back in, no speedo and the same 41 and 17 cel, please, someone has to know, it's driving me crazy.
well i just ripped out the engine wiring harness again and unloomed everything and tood an ohm meter pin to pin on every wire on the o2 and the vss, everything checked out fine, then i put a new oem o2 in and the same problem, i'm wondering if it could be ecu related, any help would be greatly appriciated, i have another p75, but can't try it cause it's not chipped
just because its not chipped dont mean anything, stick it in and just start the car and see throws those two codes right away or not... other wise you could just have loose wiring to those two things, or one of your grounds could be loose which is what was actually causeing the speedo to jump around... mine jumped also and it turned out to be the ground wire on top of my thermostat housing was lose and it caused my speedo and tach to jump around almong with when i hit a bump the car would bog out...
