Sounds like your thermostat is stuck open. Just replace it

If his thermostat was stuck open he would have no heat what so ever and the needle would "barely" move off the C.

Mine gets to about 1/3 and then never budges unless I get it REALLY hot - meaning when it was running out of coolant due to a big hole in the radiator it would go up, but that's it.

If it's not going over half and it's not taking forever to warm up, you don't have a problem.
If it stays cold for too long, the t-stat might be stuck open, preventing the car from warming up and keeping you in a rich warmup condition.

mine doesnt go to half until i drive for an hour

i only work 2 miles from my house so im never able to hit vtec because it never goes above C

it might be because of the full core radiator instead of the half?

Nope, your thermostat should be closed until you warm up, so the amount of fluid in the radiator is not an issue.

Mine actually sits bout 1/8 or 1/10 below the "C" and after driving 20 minutes+ it goes to the 1/4th mark and pretty much stays there even on long road trips (3/4 hours before pit-stopping/rest).

you also have to look at what time of year it is. the air is way colder. mine was barely breaking into the area above the "c" so i replaced the thermostat. if i let it warm up just idling, it will increase to just shy of halfway. in all my honda's i have ever owned, just shy of halfway is where it always stays.

btw, napa thermostat gasket suck ***, it will leak like a mo'fo, get a oem honda one.
