Default FS: 1990 Civic Si *stock one owner* Oregon

SOLD! .

I'm putting my 1990 Civic Si up for sale. I bought it a month ago to use a commuter car. Even though I dont like red, I bought it because it was so clean and original that it seemed like a shame to let another one go to some ricer kid who would trash it. I really wanted a white Si though, and I found one recently so the red car has to go.

I bought the car from the original owner, who bought here in Portland at St. John's Honda in the summer of 1990. He ordered it with the factory optional fog lights, floor mats, and A/C. He's put only 152k miles on it since then, mostly driving to the train station and occasional trips up to Mt. Hood.

INTERIOR: The drivers side mat is worn, but the passenger side is still in good shape. The drivers seat has some wear on the bolsters but no rips or tears. The passenger seat is nearly perfect as the car rarely had passengers. There are some marks on the rear seat from the child seats the previous owner used, but it's not too bad, and I think some of it is already fading since I bought it.

The door panels and dash have some typical wear, 1 or 2 tears, and some of the weird milky fading that older Honda door panels get. Every EF I've looked at over the years seems to have this, no matter how well it was taken care of. The moonroof works great, no sticking or noise. Cargo cover is there, but is starting to split like most of them do.

Comes with Blaupunkt CD player, but it's pretty much dead...sound only out of left speaker, and doesn't play CD's

EXTERIOR: The body is very straight, and there is no rust. There are a few dents and dings but nothing serious. The worst flaw is that the hood has faded to the traditional Honda "Milano Pink". The windshield is cracked and would need to be replaced soon. I bought new wipers but didn't want to put them on until the windshield was replaced.

One of the headlights has a crack, and both are leaking, so I bought some replacements (used but clean). They are not installed yet but will come with the car.

The OEM fog lights work, but one has a crack in the lens. I'm not sure if you can buy replacement lenses for these, but I have seen them for sale used in the past. Not cheap, but if you want to keep it original, I guess it'll cost :tear:.

ENGINE: As stated, 152k original miles, and it runs perfectly. I changed the oil/filter, fuel filter, plugs, cap/rotor. The clutch is original and will need replacement at some point in the near future. It drives fun but when cold it can chatter a bit. Shifts perfectly though.

CHASSIS: No leaks, no torn balljoints or cv boots, no loose wheel bearings. The car rides and drives like it's almost new. It might still even have the original shocks in it. Very quiet and smooth, doesn't pull to either side. I'm actually kind of liking the stock feel; it's a nice change from the buckboard wagons I've been driving over the years. Brakes are good but could probably use some new pads in the front though.

I took a few pics, let me know if there are any more you'd like to see. I didn't get interior shots yet, the battery died on my camera.

SOLD! .

Thanks...I agree, it's nice to see cars like this in original untouched shape. Even though I don't like red, I had to buy it on principle

Is that an incognito low-ball offer?

No not really. I don't even know if I will be able to get one for that price and I really want white, so I think my expectations might be a bit lofty. But hey, if someone had one for $2k then I would be interested, so maybe.

I hear you....I wanted white too, which is why I'm selling this one:

Lowballs will be looked at, but I have a hard limit on the price for this car...any cheaper than that and I might as well strip it and use it for my track car.

I got it on Craigslist. Bought it from the original owner, and it came with a stack of maintenance paperwork. Has alot more miles than the red one but the car was always garaged and since I only drive 50 miles a week, it shouldn't be a problem.
