Default b16 or b18?

building an ls/vtec and was wondering which is better to go with.. a GSR head, or b16?

Do some research. There are many debates on this subject. The gsr cams are more aggressive and youll get more compression out of it whereas I hear the b16 head flows better and has the single plenum manifold. If youre looking to build the head than get whichever is cheaper.

LS vtec is kinda pointless because the motor wasn't meant to be vtec. Though you should go with the b16 head just because it's easy to find and the price is cheap too.

I would go b16, litle higher comp, Do arp rod bolts and youll be fine. I have a built ls v with an r head and have no prob.

if u dont use the vtec do u still have to do some work like tap oil lines and other things or can u just put the head on?

why would you go through the trouble of putting the head on if you're not using vtec? might as well just keep the nonvtec head on there.
