Speedo Goes nuts from 7+...
Here's the **** again, it always seems the nicknacks are the things that always seem to get the best of me..
Its never a big problem, but only a small one.. 1 at a time.
My speedometer started to go nuts again..and as i usually do when this happens i grab a bottle of b12-carb cleaning, and clean the connectors and the plug and ****.. it works like it normally should.. 2 days later it does it again.. what the **** man.. so i call around br, someone's got a spare..i got grab it, plug it on mine.. clean it.. and it works again.
Now today, i just did a 2nd gear pull on the way to work and at about 7k it started to go nuts.. at 9k it spun everywhere..
Question:: I haven't completely set my tps voltage yet, does this have something to do with the speedo's voltage being messed up? All my grounds are there.. and i have cleaned all the connectors.. it usually works fine but i dunno, this is a pratically new VSS sensor too, its not the full thing i just poped it on top of the mech side of the vss in the tranny.
i'm stuck.. any ideas?
THe only reason i can think of this is because, when i first had the itbs, and had ghetto the tps setup for it, the ground wire wasn't in all the way and it was making the speedo go blitz, once i got a new tps plug and wires were tucked nice and tight the probably did subside.. now its back again but this time, all the wires are spliced and put together neatly in a connector and wrapped with heat strink.

Check the connector at the speed sensor. If the pins are green it's time to replace the three pin connector at the speed sensor.

Once again you demonstrate a level of intelligence and maturity far beyond your years
Knowing this before posting in your thread, my intent was to help people who have a similar problem. Corrosion of the three pin connector at the speed sensor is a very common problem.

I had the exact same problem. A new VSS helped a little bit. Then i de-pinned the connector and they were all green/corroded. I replaced the pins from our harness repair kit and now it works PERFECTLY. All the way to 9K...
Re-pin it and you should be fine!
