And you don't need the distributor.
You should go with chipped P72 if you wanna keep your IAB working. Or you can go with Vtec converted P05,P06 they are a little cheaper to get and exactly the same with P28.

OBD2 got CKP (crankshaft position sensor) mounted on oil pump instead in the distributor like OBD1. That is the more expansive way of doing it. Most people running with jumper harness only with no problems.

Well that would truely remove all the unnecessary crap, but you could easily get away with leaving that stuff in place and running an obd1 distributor and making a jumper harness for the sensor wires.
It doesn't really make sense to unless you have a specific reason, like your cam timing issue. You could still just leave the obd2 stuff down by the crank unplugged and run an obd1 dist.
