Default I know this is GDD but there is actually people active in this part of the site.

Me and my brother just put in a new clutch into my integra. We get the car back together and only reverse engages. Is the clutch installed properly? We think its the shift linkage because its not going into 1-5th, only reverse.

Thanks for throwing your .02 out there. I'm glad you felt the need to share SOMETHING, regardless of how unhelpful it is.

Im not familiar with the DC or cable shifter transmissions but sounds like its the shift linkage.

Best to ask in the Integra forum where people actually know the specific car and have worked on them.

So is it the shift linkage? What would cause this? This is my first time doing this, so if you could enlighten me, go ahead.

GOD DAMNIT! I really dont feel like pulling my teg apart again. Im about to say expletive it and have it towed to acura.

My brother did the aligning with the tool so he thought he did it right. How big of a possibility is it that its not the clutch at this point?

If it is cable operated, make sure that the tension on said cable is loosened.

The alignment tool just situates the clutch so it can be bolted. Is the pin in the shift linkage installed correctly?

You probably expletiveed up when reattaching the shifter rods, cause that doesn't sound like a clutch at all.

I'm a mechanic and I'll help out a swed brother. What happens when you try to shift it into the other gears? Does it feel normal or no? Can you run it thru the gears with the car off and without pressing the clutch?
