Default Help 95 Accord EX

Hi,

I have 95 Accord EX SOHC 4 cylinder 2.2 AT which I bought recently with 155,000 miles on it.

Ok. heres the question when I am driving slowly on first gear when it changes to 2nd gear I got this jolt like when it shift gears is this normal shifting for the 95 Accord? I have no problems with 3rd or 4th gear its just when it shift from 1st to 2nd that I got this jolt, Its feels like when in a manual transmission when you let got of the clutch soon I have that kinda feel but smoothly.

I already did the drain and fill on the tranny 3x fill it with valvoline max life with honda z1 and hopefully remove all the gunk inside the transmission. It is my understanding that honda engines does not have replaceable filter on there tranny is this true?

I do not think its the clutch problem at all coz. I tested all gears, went up the hill and down and I still have power

What do you think is the problem here, shifting solenoid perhaps?

I appreciate all the input.

take that non honda crap out of the trans, it will cause you problems later......

those transmissions shift hard but not to the point of the car jolting. you can lessen it considerably if you add a can of lubeguard for imports to the auto trans fluid.

another thing to check is your engine mounts

I know you've already said that your engine mounts are good, but how did you check them? And please oh please dont tell me visualy!
Check your front mount, that'll be your #1 suspect. Have your car running, put in in drive and hit the gas pedal. Ask someone to look under the hood and see how far up your engine rises, then put in reverse and check for the same thing.
I've ran into many problems with your description and 9 out of 10 that was the problem.
Btw, like someonelse said keep your Honda fluids! They will work the best for your vehicle. Ive worked with the Valvoline products at the shop and they call it "Universal Fluid" claiming it'll work in any car. If you ask me, I try to stay from anything that says Universal, but thats just me.

Same issue here, we checked as honcord suggested and found no unregular engine movement or any issue with the motor mounts. My mechanic and I think is most likely a transmission issue. my tranny shift smoothly, in my case it happens most often when I accelerate and then take the foot off the gas. PLease post a solution if you find one. I will do the same.

I took it to my mechanic and he only just visually inspect and he said its ok. now both solenoids are clean we took it out.

If engine mounts are the problem then I will have the same effects on 3rd and 4th gear but I don't I only get this jolt feeling when I shift from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd.

Do you think that switching ATF from valvoline to honda will have a big diff possibly make that jolt feeling disappear?

You know when running 40-65+ I have no problems at all smooth sailing its just that 1st to 2nd jolt feeling.

Now if the problem is the front engine mount. Can you buy this separately or you have to get the whole set and where to buy it.

ohh yeah try switching the fluid. i didn't know it was just 1st and 2nd.. they are all a little harsher than normal, its the way they are built. they don't let the clutch packs slip at all when changing gears like others that give you a smooth shift.

as for the mount, you should be able to get just that one at any parts store.
