best why to get power but stay legal?
like the title said.....i couldnt find threads about this and it may be stupid but i was wondering if any of u guys know how to get sick power but stay legal? like pass smog and be able to be bared? i know that there may not be a way but i thought i would ask.....please help me?
Edelbrock makes a turbo kit for your car that puts out good horsepower and is California smog legal. You can also put a newer GSR or RSX engine into your car.
It would be nice if you could expand on this "sick power" you speak of. There are lots of ways to make power in these cars, but unless you want to crack 10's or use the car as a road-racing toy, there's no reason to do much more than basic turbocharging or a simple B-series swap.

yeah ok....so wat i mean is like type R power to k20 power.....i thought that u could bare a RSX K20a2 motor?
yeah california is gay and makes everything stricter. It just passes a certain emission standards and quality standards set by california. If you dont have the CARB approved stuff in your car, or the sticker in the engine bay, then your expletiveed. Big ticket and its surchargable

yup, i and i LIVE in cali, if u run more than 6 psi on ur greddy/edelbrok kit, ull get a fix-it-ticket. so ur really not gaining much on a d series turbo. is cali the ONLY state thats gay about this?

I thought you can't smog the k20 because you have to change the fuel lines?

any k will pass.
yo cannot use an rbc mani on a non rbc motor.
you have to use the orignal ecu yes that means going to honda and all that
need all smog componemts of the orignal car
need the orignal car's non-return fuel feed gas tank.
i belive you also need a working DLC connector too

That's probably not a viable option for most Honda owners, but nice thought; I'd love to have one if I had an extra 80k laying around..
Like people have been saying, I'd suggest Greddy or Edelbrock's 50 state legal turbo kit

On a 1.5 or 1.6L -- it's frankly a waste of time.. You'll get minimal gains comparatively to turboing the car. Much easier to get more power from turboing than supercharging a puny SOHC.
best way would a Bar'd B-series motor. If not then a legal d-turbo setup. I reside in socal and i'm running a stock y8, lots of suspension and some exterior/interior work though. I do alot of driving so getting popped by the police will def. dent my pocket.
what i did.................just buy a daily driver and a project car.....i mean **** you can get a cheap daily for less than 500 bucks on this site, not to mention when you drive to the movies you don't have to worry about coming back to nothing
so glad i live in north carolina..... south carolina you don't even need any type of inspection at all lol cali is the only state that is really strict like that but it wont suprise me if other states don't follow in cali's footsteps. it is a good thing but it is also very gay. does cali have many drag strips? Do they allow you to run your boost how ever you want at the track?
