99 ek auto to manual swap
when doing an auto to manual swap in a 99 ek do you need an auto to manual swap mount like when doing the 92-95 swap. I havent seen any advertised or been able to find any info on this. Thank you
in a 99 civic i looked up the trans mount at my work and they are the same part number for an auto and man. but i'm not sure about the kit. looked at hasports and i didnt see a kit for an auto swap
you need ofcourse the 5speed tranny, the mount for the tranny (when i did my auto to manual swap, i did a b16 swap at the same time) pedals, linkage and all the other crap.
then you have to rip off the center console and find the plug to the auto tranny shifter that has 2 thick black wires and you gotta splice them together.
also, you have to take off the steering column cover and find the key cylinder (its a white "cover" ... ) unscrew it, pull out the tiny plug with 2 wires and leave it off (so you can get your key back.

that was my problem i just couldnt find anything saying i didnt need the mount so i wasjust curious. The rest i knew exceptht the part about the key switch. thanks for the help guys if theres any other useful just let me know.
i jus did the swap. you need both the rear tranny mount that bolts to the crossmember and the right tranny mount that bolts to the tranny for a 5 speed. any 96-00 mount will work, i got mine off a 99 and my car is a 96
