Default Weight/Gut issues

as we all know for a tuner the dc4 chassis isnt the lightest comapred ot a hatch but what would you think as just a summer driver cus winter in wisconsin isnt friendly to boosted cars haha would you think fomr the front seats back gut would b a decent weight reduciton about how much and also do you think its nessicary for a fully built b18b boosted with a b16 tranny? or does that motor and trans set up make up for the weight

what are you asking?

1: the RS is the lightest stock teg, cause of the lack of moonroof i guess
2: they say that every 100 lbs shaves .1 off your 1/4 mile.
3: a teg is just a larger car than a hatch, it comes with a bigger engine.

a ls/rs/gs should be plenty quick boosted. if you wanna strip it for whatever reason then go right ahead. you may lose about 100 lbs from the seats and plastic interior panels, and spare tire. on the street i dont think stripping will make the car seem that much faster. although i personally do feel a difference between completley stripped rear and pass seat, and when ive got full interior, 50 lb sub box, and a 50 lb tool box in the car.

RS is lighter because of no moon roof, no ABS, no AC, no power mirrors, no cruise control, and no power door locks.

If you want your car lighter, get rid of your COMPLETE AC system, ABS system, power steering, cruise control, spare tire, rear seats, rear interior panels, and take out all of the sound deadening material. HUGE difference

Just take out your seats and use lawn chairs! j/k

imo:
1) if it's gonna be strictly a track car I would strip the interior, but if it's a summer DD I would keep the interior in...
2) if your car is running alot of boost, I would probably focus on traction rather than weight reduction
3) Wisconsin winters suck, keep your teg in the garage

lol muffler and washer fluid? i actually never thaught of those.

and i dunno about stock radio, but mine doesnt weigh 4 lbs. my floor mats also arnt 10.

also if this is a pure track car, you can also remove the airbags, the dash, the carpet, center console, antenna, pretty much anything thats attached to the car that isnt required for it to run. you can even start pulling body panels.
