Default intake control solenoid valve

Is this part needed because when I bought the car the previous owner installed a cold air intake and left this valve just hanging under the hood with a cut line but it is still halfway attached. What is it exactly and what does it do.

Over closer to the headlights? Remove it.

Wait is this the little tubing that runs into a soleniod attached to a mini vaccum tank?

yep that control the butterfly in the intake box in your fender.. it something honda create to save gas...if you going aftermarket intake, i suggest you cap it up, take that whole diaphragm unit and intake control solonoid out. also take that black box under the fender out.. that just retrict air if you using an aftermarket intake

vouch by all Socalprelude members!

This is what i found on the topic cause a was worried about the same thing but now i am taking the whole vacume hose #8, solonoid, black box and diaphragm out and capping the nipple on the back of the polenem (sp) OR i/m

props to socalprelude.com !!!!!!!!!
