Default Car bogs down/surges

ok so this is the deal, My car DB8, has been having a power surging/bogging issue in the lower rpm's when its cold. Once the car gets really warmed up it stops, but it'll still bog a tiny bit. When its cold though it'll do this even when cruising at a constant speed. I've replaced my Dizzy Cap & Rotor, Plug Wires, Both fuel filters. The car is completely stock. Once on the high i did get a CEL #43. Then it ran fine while that CEL was on. What can be causing this bogging issue? my dad thinks its one of the sensors. What could be the problem?

Thanks,
Jimmy

it really wouldnt hurt to know how many miles on the car. try cleaning out the injectors.

does it burn oil? it could have bad rings.

(edit)

also, have you tested your fuel pressure? is it at spec?

fuel pressure is all at spec, why would it matter if the car burned oil>? does that actually cause a car to have power surges

if you burn alot of oil it means you may have bad rings, which could cause low compression when the engine is cold.

i am dealing with a similar problem... i had always wanted to ask: would a faulty knock sensor cause a surge or a bog? im throwing a knock sensor code.

could this occur also from a injector seal/insulator being broken or not used?

sure could...i had a similar problem but not quite a power surge/bog...when i accelerate my car almost "stutters" up till about 3000 rpms...never got it checked out but i beleive my clutch is slipping...doesnt matter because im doing an engine swap soon enough...

But as for your problem, if you are at spec with fuel pressure and your compression is near perfect, it could be something not so obvious...since you are not throwing a code, i would check all vacuum lines for possible small leaks...the smallest leak in a vacuum line has been known to cause very low idle/bogging/power surge issues...if that isnt the case of you do not feel like doing that, listen to the guys above

Good luck!

absolutely! I would check the main vacuum hoses to the intake and the MAF sensor...also check the tubes that come from the crankcase and the ones going into the TPS...those usually cause the car to bog! Good luck!

well it sounds like its choking...possible fuel pump/fuel filter...if its sputtering while you are driving, make sure to watch the RPM gauge, if you can do that for me...im no mechanic in anyways but i think i can help you out...lemme know what you come across bud...

hrmmmm...not too sure what it could be...yeah it wont be a vacuum like cause it would do it at idle...it could quite possibly be your transmission...not too familiar with all of that jazz and im not a mechanic...but who knows...try doing a tune up? Car throwing a code? If not, cant be an O2 sensor...hrmmmm man wish you lived closer to philly so i could take a look at it...sry

actually i replaced My dizzy cap/rotor (OEM HONDA), NGK spark plug wires all new. It's weird because it seems like when it gets really warmed up it stops. like cruising it doesnt sputter anymore. When its cold and im cruising doing like 70 it'll keep doing it. for instance , it doesn't jerk or bog.......then it starts to sputter and bog and then it jerks and like jumps up higher in RPM to get back to 70 or w/e. But i can feel it sputtering in low rpm while going through the gears if its warmed up. And when cold its really annoying. I don't want to replace the O2 but i really dont know right now......................My car USED to be supercharged, and i heard your O2 can burn out from all the heat correct>? should i just give it a try a spend the 100 on a new o2?

i dont think it would hurt to replace it...but what you can do is go through some hassle to get it off and take a look at it...you can usually tell when the damn thing has taken a ****...better than spending 100 bucks right now..but also remember if your O2 sensor is bad you would be burning rich, because it goes into dump mode...smell your exhaust and also take a look at it...oddly, you should be throwing a code if the thing is bad, but it may just be on its way out...give that a shot and lemme know what you come across...
