I am going to get the ats final drive. since i do alot of highway driving i am going to put the LS 5th gear in
i think i have all the parts list i need to order, can someone confirm that they are correct
main shaft 5th gear $ 68
counter shaft 5th gear $44
mainshaft 5th gear needle bearing $18
5th/ reverse synchro sleave set $124 << my freind said i need this part, but when i talked with a&H motorsports they quoted me this part.
it does not seem like i need this part, or maybe that is not the correct part they quoted me

The rpms won't be THAT much higher then stock.. it's bearable.
AssDime drove to MI and back to FL with the ITR gearing and ATS FD. Still got 26-28ishmpg (IIRC) and it wasn't bad at all.. until that A/C tensioner broke
-Dave, who thinks you shouldn't be a ***** and live with a few extra revs, specially if you take your car to track events where you use 5th
errr, i have dont have the #'s in front of me
but i think when cruising on the freeway there was a 400 rpm difference @80 mph
that is a noticable diff
rpm's kill motors, i want my motor to be live along time

If you have that concern/mindset, don't go with the ATS, and stick with the 4.40...

I just drove 5500 kilometers with an ATS FD and stock 5th. It is fine. At 5k rpms indicated I was cruising at 85 mph.

very few west coast tracks will get you in the 115-125 range (with my hp),
even being in 5th for a short section 1-3 secs is not going to be very bad on lap times
besides, i go to track events to have fun, no racing or hot lap timers

bob,
while i concur with my counterparts here in being a stock itr gears and ats final ****... I see you are firm in your decision:
See my sig and they can hook you up with not only the part #'s, but probably the best price anywhere.
.....and don't say we didn't tell you so.
