ok I started my car yesterday and then it shut off and I keep cranking but it won't start
I had somewhat the same problem, try pressing the gas some while you crank it, tps could be on its way out.

Also before you check that you may want to turn the key to the on position and see if you can hear the fuel pump kicking on. Then check for spark and if you don't know how to do that the easiest way to do it or the way i have done it is take out the first spark plug wire stick a philips head screwdriver and while someone tries starting the car touch the screw driver to the valve cover screw or put it close enough and see if you can see spark.
Be careful though, its always a big surprise when it shocks you.

I am trying to stop laughing from that man!!! Too funny! I have seen spark testers for like $5 so I would buy one before getting shocked.

he means, pull the plug wire out of the spark plug hole and sholve a scew drive in it, while someone cranks the car over, touch the screw driver while still in the plug wire onto the valve cover and look for spark. i personally wont do it this way. pull the spark plug out and plug it back into the spark plug wire and touch the electrode onto the valve cover and test for spark. if you dont see spark. you dont have spark!

after you do that check the main relay / fuel pump.
sit in car with all quiet and radio off.
turn key to on position and listen.
you should hear click , CEL comes on, a humming noise, click, cel goes off.
if you hear that then your main relay works and your fuel pump primes.
you also need to pull the top timing cover off and make sure you are at TDC and your belt hasnt jumped some toofers
