8" subs in a 91 CRX rear speaker holes, can it be done?
I was told that you can fit 8" subwoofers in the rear speaker holes. Could you please give me details? What's needed? What sub (brand, model ect..) did you use? Thanks for any help with my audio project.
first off ....... didn't you just ask this last week......
If you're still thinking of using subs without an enclosure, look at the JL 8 IB4. Not having an enclosure will simplify the process greatly, honestly I wouldn't go this route though.
If you're gonna build some enclosures you're gonna need ....... some mdf, fiberglassing materials, suitable subs (JL 8W3 ???), a bunch of masking tape and a healthy dose of creativity. I'm really not sure how much room/clearance you've got back there though, so the 8W3 might not be the best choice (look at depth of sub, volume needed by sub and excursion of sub. Compare those #'s to what you have to work with and go from there)
If you're expecting to get a lot of low end bass from this setup you will be greatly dissapointed.
good luck
