Question about Valve adjustment specs
So I adjusted my valves today cause I've been hearing them ticking for quite a few months now. So I tightened them down to intake: .006 and exhaust .008 and now the ticking is gone. The only problem is that now my idle is at 2000 rpms, though it's constant and doesn't misfire it runs quite smooth. Just for some reason my idle is really high and it doesn't feel as powerfull at all as it was before. I trippled checked to make sure that I tightened them to the specs above, and the motor was COLD so i'm confused. Is that not the right specs? Thanks for any help.
didn't change a THING other than adjust the valves.
Edit: So apparently my throttle cable was barely BARELY hung up over the little metal bracket it sits in, which was enough to raise the idle. but not enough for me to feel it through the gas pedal. Must have happened when I was removing and reinstalling the valve cover somehow. Anyways, for some reason at full throttle and high rpm it seams as if it's lost some power. maybe it's all in my head, but anyone ever notice negative power differences after a valve adjustment? Thanks.
