Hey everyone, new guy here doing research on building up a peppy commuter car (EG hatch w/ B18c1) and just wanted to introduce myself. I have an Evo VIII which I am slowly building up and wanted something more reliable and gas sipping to drive for school and work but didn't want something lame like a Hyundai or a Kia or something. Does anyone know any good Honda shops around the Concord area?

Yeah I wouldn't mind driving far out for quality service. If I don't get parts or service for my Evo VIII out in Concord at my friends shop I usually go to Hayward or Fremont to some other shops.
It's freaking hard to find an EG hatch though. All the ones I find on craigslist look molested and riced out. I just want something beater looking for the sleeper effect/ theft deterent. Also kinda tough trying to find a wrecked Teg GSR for a donor car. Can anyone maybe point me in the right direction to find this stuff 'cause craigslist isn't cutting it.

Care to explain? Haven't talked to the guy but I'd like to hear any positive and negatives about the shop so I can make an informed decision.

Don't give up the search! You are bound to find a good EG out there.
Along with craigslist, you can also try cars.com or autotrader.com. Not to mention, you can also look here on HT.

Lol what about TwinCam in Concord? Jk worst shop ever. I heard they were closing down.

For tuning I think I'll check out Andy at Speedelement in Fremont. He tunes Evo's and a bunch of other cars and I know he knows his ****. Almost had him tune my Evo but I ended up going with the guy who originally tuned my Evo.
Otherwise I want to find a shop to consult with over how to go about building up my proposed setup (EG hatch w/ ITR swap, suspension, and brakes). I want to make sure it's actually guys who know how to drive and build fast Honda's and not just parts sellers who can do a little research on the internetz.

I dont know what they have heard.. but as far as I know hes a reputable guy.
There was a mishap with a car, but the dyno was rented out to somebody at the time the motor blew. It wasnt the owners of the shop themselves.

Feel free to back up your statement then. I like to know both sides to every story so I can make an informed decision.
