ok well ive been looking for a b16 tranny for my 94 gsr...i found one today for really cheap but it has the 3rd gear grind....i did do search on this topic but i still have one qusetion..is there anything else i should be aware of that goes along with the 3rd gear grind or is that just the basic problem??

its a basic problem if you know how to rebuild the tranny. It has a grind more than likely due to mis-shifting or powershifting the gears. Either the gear itself has some rounded teeth that cause the grind or some teeth have been broken straight off or IMO the synchro is bad and needs to be replaced. The Trans will only get worst until it has the needed parts replaced.

If you are fine with the grind than go for it. Good Luck.

i wouldent buy any transmission that has a grind.

they only get worse..
