Default Gasket between Header and Head ?

I'm putting a Greddy Header onto my 99 LS and was wondering whether an OEM gasket would work or if I need a special one or some kind of an upgrade. Quick help please.

Yes, the stock one is fine, and you can likely reuse your existing one without any problems.

Is the stock one layered sheet metal or the crushable material. I always thought the (felpro?) crushable one would make the best seal vs the layered one.

hmmm felpro should be metal as well....only time you see a "crush" type gasket is in the actual exhaust system piping i.e. a flange gasket

On my old D, the gasket from kragen was the crushable material, kind of like the flange gasket material, but thin. That one is a one-use gasket and has to be cleaned off the head and mani.
OEM FTW

ahhhh i'm sure they make them, but all i've ever seen is the metal, even from felpro....interesting (probably really cheap too)

The gasket that came w/ my edelbrock header was like an exhaust flange gasket material, hard compressed metal looking.
