How low should i go?
the car : 91 civic dx hatch
the goods : agx's w/skunk2 sleeve style coilovers.
the question : whats a reasonable lowering point for these shocks without sacrificing ride quality? the shocks that are currently on the car are blown out and i can get a sick deal for a full set of agx's for 275 picked up. i normally wouldent use sleeve style coils but they came with my hatch when i got it and i just cant see them go to waste so i want to re-use them for my next setup. any feedback on this would be greatly apreciated, thanks h-t

well honestly i dont want to slam my car. the boston roads are wayy to messed up to drive it that low. my coils are all the way down right now and it rides like crap. i was thinking more along the lines of mabe a 1.5 - 1.75 inch drop but i suppose ill set them at halfway and start from there.
edit : im looking for atleast a 1.5 to 2 finger gap between the top of the tire to the fender prolly something like this

Just go the lowest they go and set all the shocks to 4. You'll be fine

Your car is going to ride like a piece of poop and that shock is going to blow out in no time. Going all the way down is one of the greatest ways to loose control of your car. Suspension is there for a reason so do not take all the suspension travel out of the car by going all the way down.
If you were to take a look at race cars you will notice they are not slammed on the ground for a reason.

Before it turns into an AGX bash fest, I wanna say I love my AGX's. I have H&R sport springs and all of my AGX's on the lowest dampening. It handles awesome. The S/T rear sway helped alot too. I wouldn't run them on coil sleeves though.
I wish i went with the HR sport springs over my race springs that i use on the street.....it beats the **** out of my car as the drop is low
(reducing travel/plushness), plus stiffer spring rates.
Bushings and all the components just get rockkkked hard when you hit even small pot holes....bunches of bad words come out when this happens..
I think when you can feel the paint on the road through the suspension....its to hard
and low of suspension
I would go for about a 1.5" in the front and 1.0 in the back....something of that sort
i heard the skunk coil-overs are a progressive, kinda like springs, two springs on a coil or something like that?
anyways some info and questions on my part for you
Keep on rippin

From: maybe one day ill be done with my car... not
Step 1: Take your suspension out completely.
Step 2: Take lots of 'slammed' photos (from wierd angles).
Step 3: Save these pics on your computer.
Step 4: Put your suspension back in, and keep adjusting up-or-down until you think your cars handling best.
Step 5: Randomly post the 'slammed' pics every now & then. (They'll be good for 5 years or so)
Everybody WINS!
