i have a low mile b16. and i am going to change the oil. i want to a synthetic blend would that be a good idea? it doesn't burn any oil now. also i was wondering what weight oil i should use. ex. 10w-30. what do u recommend? and what company? i was told vtec engines should use a little higher weight. and help would be great.

 

most people run straight 30 wight

it wouldn't hurt but why don't you go full synthetic
and synthetic isn't recommended for cars that just came off the lot if you have a fresh B16 it has at least 30k miles on it so i think your safe

 

I would run 5w-30 or 10w-30. Dino or Synthetic for a street car is really your choice.

 

the car has about 42,000 on it. so its young in honda miles but broke in. i was told to do a blend and then switch to full synthetic if i want. any blend better than any other? thanks for the help so far.
