Default Transmission Install Help

Hey guys,
I removed my transmission, replaced the rear seal and put a new clutch in. I am trying to get everything back.

I also replaced the spring on the throwout bearing because it was broken. I did this and everything was working great with the lever.

Now I have the transmission back on the car and the lever is Very Stiff. I can tell the spring is still on, but the lever will stick. Something is not right and I wanted to get your opinion. God, the thought of having to take this back off makes me want to puke.

What could it be? Everything went back on great..no probs with the flywheel, clutch...it was all perfectly torqued down and looked exact. HELP!

ok the reason the lever is stiff is cus when you pull it up its pushing against the teeth of the pressure plate thats why its stiff so thats normal now about the sticking part i am not sure what you mean, like you pull on the leaver and it sticks for a second or to then drops back down ??

Well man, I hope I got it...Now that I tightened the transmission case, the lever is stiff. I have like 1 inch of "spring" in it and if I lift the lever all the way to the top...It stays there and does not come back down.

This worries me.

Thanks for you fast replies too....Much appreciated. this is my first trans job.

no, I have not set the cable yet. I am working on the mounts now...I was hoping to identify this as a problem before I get too far in hooking everything up.

The lever just feels weird. I dont have much to compare it to tho because the spring was broke before and the lever just moved freely.

wow...yea, its screwed....I put the cable on and nothing. I have no pressure in the pedal and the spring action of the arm is not working at all...WTF....

Do you think cranking the car would help? I still have to put the battery in and the downpipe back on...Would cranking the car fix or do anything to the internals of the tranny to fix this?

Ok, I took the tranny off and found the problem with the throwout bearing. I have everything back up and now there is only like 1/2 inch travel in the clutch arm. Does this seem correct, or is something else wrong? I have very little travel on the arm with a new clutch install...Is that normal?
