Spoon headgasket! Problems?

Spoon headgasket! Problems?
I have a euro spec ITR with 11.1 compression and I have a Spoon headgasket to install.
Problem is that I have known a guy you builds honda race engine for some time now and he told me that he had some problems with burned gaskets on motors with spoon headgaskets. He recommended me the Mugen one cause with them he never had a problem.
I thought they were very similar? Any truth in this? Please give some info on your own experience, cause I´m a bit worried now!
