Default seat belt fraying?

idk if any1 else has this problem. on my Eg8, the seat belt is fraying out in one spot, where the belt meets the buckle when the seatbelt is on or clipped in... its a two inch section and its frayed on one side only... i'll get a pic up later... should i try to find an oem one to replace it, or get some harnesses??? the tan seat belts are hella rare, and i dont see any in the market place or on ebay..

any suggestions?

Call Honda. They might be willing to replace them for free since it's a safety issue. So say the rumors I've heard in the past at least.

I have heard that before, but it is nice to hear it from a Honda employee. I have always understood that since it is a safety restraint they have to replace it. Good to know for a fact tho!

He is probably just trying to get his post count up by making random posts.

Ill put a lighter to it, so it can stop what ever its doing. Im going to the dealer to get a new belt. Can I just bring the belt there an ask if i can get a new one? Or do I need to bring the car with me?

my passenger belt on my 94 civic has a hole in it down by the seat lever on the back of the seat. sometimes it will get hung up on it. do you have to be the original owner to get the new belt? do i call the dealer and tell them my seat belts need to be replaced?

put the car in your pocket and bring it with ya

i'd just drive the car there and show them while the belt is still installed in the vehicle. Just so there's no questions asked and they cant say something like " is this a honda seatbelt??"

I wouldnt take a lighter to it just in case the dealer is picky. If you take a lighter to it they may try to turn it around on you like it was intentional. Just take it to the dealer as is.

Just drive ur car up to the service area, and tell them about ur seat belt. They will take ur info and if they have the belt in stock they will send it into the shop to get installed.
