alot of alarms dont dissable the starter function if unpluged, so if the alarm is going on and you unplug the box it shuts it off completely, and alot of the thieves out there are the ones that install alarms so they know how to bypass even good ones.

What is the BEST - most effective theft prevention?

I know "if they want it bad enough they will take it" but there are good ways to help prevent it from happening to you!

lo-jack is the best defense if your car got stolen, sends out a signal to all police units and cars are recovered within less then 2 hours
costs money though

I am thinking that a GOOD alarm, and a club together make a good combination.

I know "if they want it bad enough they will take it" but there are good ways to help prevent it from happening to you!</TD></TR></TABLE>

a club? be serious man, a club only stops a 2 yr old child. Alarms will stop the idiot car thief, but a real thief, it'll slow em down by about 2-4 minutes. Alarms can be good if the wiring is hidden, but most of the time the wires are exposed right under the dash, easy to get to.

Think about these options. Have you ever thought about pulling the starter wire off the starter also? or pull some random fuses out? It'll take a thief time to figure out what you did. Time is a thiefs worst enemy. The more time they take, the more likely they'll give up.

You also gotta be smart when you park. Make it harder for them to tow your car, turn the front wheels all the way to the left or right and set the parking brake. This way it'll be hard for a tow truck to back up and hook you from the front or even a flat bed to drag it.

I see in the pics the R had a quick release. Did the owner take it off while he was gone? You better believe if I had a QR, i'm rockin my steering wheel at the mall or something. I'll wear it like Flava Flav. If someone asks me why I'm walking around with a steering wheel, i'll just tell em i own a honda.

The Club saved my Integra.

&lt;--- #1 club fan right here

I know the club can be avoided, but it saved my car and it could very well save yours too.
