BAHRAIN RACER POSTS 8-SECOND TIME…TOMORROW
Ebrahim Kanoo ran his "Hulk" turbocharged Supra to an 8.785 e.t. at 166.67 miles per hour in testing today (tomorrow on the other side of the Atlantic) at Bahrain International Circuit Drag Strip in Sakhir, Bahrain.

This is the first time a car in the Super Street Category of the Bahrain Drag Racing Club (BDRC) has run in the 8-second zone.

Super Street rules do not allow the use of a transbrake for launching. Kanoo, 32, was making just his first full quarter-mile pass down the strip with his revitalized racer.

The car was originally purchased from Bullish Racing in the U.S. and has had a complete makeover.

On the outside the car received a gorgeous paint job themed after The Incredible Hulk at EK Kanoo Auto Body Shop in Manama, Bahrain.

A 3.0 litre (183 cu in) inline 6 Supra engine was built by Twins Turbo Motorsports in Signal Hill, California and produced 1291 horsepower recently on the Vrbancic Bros Racing Dyno in Ontario, CA.

Two stages of nitrous are controlled by a MoTeC Engine Management System, which was tuned by Shane Tecklenburg of Huntington Beach, CA.

A Rossler TH400 Transmission coupled to a Neal Chance Torque Converter lay the power to the ground through a stock Supra independent differential and Goodyear Eagle 28X10.0 slicks.

The car weighs 3050 lbs with driver and burns VP Import gasoline. (photos courtesy Shane Tecklenburg) [1/16/2007]

I wonder if Motec Shane owns a fairly nice condo nowadys in UAE?

Last time I checked it was also a muslim state no offense to any of my muslim brothers/sisters but frankly I would be scared **** to visit a muslim state no matter how wealthy the country is.
