Default Power windows for Crx

I was curious as to what switches people are using for power windows in their Crx.

I have no plans to do a RHD conversion and would not want to get jdm door panels. maybe EDM?

but i was thinking of using the rear inside door handles from 88-91 Civic Sedan that have power windows.

man i hope that all made sense i'm going off of little amount of sleep and was brainstorming.

I have a good idea how to install the components but was interested in which switch people are using.

Thanks,
shane

There is an entire write up about this on CRXcommunity if there isn't one on HT.

Talk to Seti about getting UKDM power switches and you could get it done that way although it WILL NOT BE CHEAP. VTi panels are getting harder and harder to come by, power isn't any better. Although the leather in the VTi panels is beautiful.

Good luck!

EDM is the way to go. dont get UKDM because you will be in the same boat as if you got JDM.

Holy crap man thats an awesome idea. i was actually wanting power door locks too. Where do you plan to mount the main switch? and the passenger switch? I'm assuming you are going to leave the stock inside door handles alone then?

Also the EDM looks awesome, very tempting!

I gotta look into the SPAL kit... right now!

I decided to install a EK armrest and put my switches in there to cut out the middle man of having to install a separate switch for the passenger. Works pretty well using the 4-door window motors with the CRX window tracks.

Thanks, Im gonna mount the main switch in the same location as the 4dr's, I looked at the sedan door panels, all I would need to do is cut out a square like hole in front of the handle, and the main switch has a metal piece that screws to the back and sandwiches the door panel to hold itself in place. simple

As for the passenger side, I have a stock 4dr pass side switch shown in my diagram, however any rocker style switch could be flushed into the door panel.

I believe the 4dr switches would be the cheapest stock looking alternative (Auto down FTMFW).

For my old hatch I grabbed a set of canadian lhd switches, i think I paid about 10bucks for em.. but they went when I sold the car albeit, I found them rather brittle and flimsy much like cb7 handles. Not sure if the EDM would be of the same quality I experienced.

Default CRX Power Windows

for the power window regulators, you can use an integra power window assy. from 91 to 94 or del sol from 92 to 95. they will bolt on without any problems. they are better than the 4 door ef since the spring tension is the same as our CRX. i used the spal switches to control them.

Wow nice! I have an 88 crx so I had the luxury of just bolting up the complete sir power door assemblies. The only thing tho is I can't seem to hookup my passenger side(jdm driver side) hopefully this diagram will help me. I was thinking about buying the edm lhd panels and switches and running the jdm pass. Side and edm pass side and having it like that with no master switch.

The crank hole covers came as an oem part when the kits were installed here in Canada, but they are rare!!

Just so you know, all 1988-91 civic and crx's in Canada came with pillar mounted seat belts. What does that have to do with your windows?
