The one cirlced in red doesnt go to the PCV on the block, the hose right above that goes there. I believe the once circled in red is the purge valve vacumme hose that runs into the carcoal canister? Correct me if i am wrong. But i do know that isnt the pcv hose. Either way, he should cap it off or find out where its running to and run a hose to it. Not having it capped off or something, will cause air to be sucked into the manifold and create a uneven flow of air going into the motor. The iacv is trying to compensate for the vacumme leak and thus, cause the idle to go up and down.

The d16y8 are obd2 motors.

You're running a p28 on a y8? How so? Did you cut the harness in the car (which should be obd2 considering the car is a 96') or are you running a conversion harness because the p28 is a obd1 computer. The ecu for the y8 is a p2p. The ecu that you are running is for a JDM d15b sohc vtec.

Well the vacume port runs to a solenoid that should be located right above the fuel rail and from the solenoid to the charcoal canister. Well at least, that's how it runs on my y8.

yoffer, i know the y8 is obd2. but isn't it possible to run a p28 with all obd1 sensors making the setup obd1?

Yes you can with the help of a conversion harness, but i was regarding a post from someone above stating whether or not it was obd1 or 2. The car (96' which is obd2) and the motor which is also obd2. I figured that he would be running a p2p ecu (obd2) which would be the most cost effective way to go.(no need to go buy a $75 conversion harness).

the circle red part should go through a sensor then do to the canister (which located next to the battery.

just re-read the first post.. i thought it was a 96 y8 swap (where that decision is necessary) and not y8 into a 96... whoops.
